Friendly Fall Driving Conditions Reminders

Well friends, today is the second official day of fall! At Coronet Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, we're ready to take on the fall weather with our new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee models and the all-new Ram 1500 in our New Inventory. But before we hit the road in search of some good foliage, we want to take a minute to remind ourselves and our customers to expect new road and driving conditions as the temperatures drop and the seasons change.

  • Limited Visibility: It gets darker earlier now. We think it's a good habit to always drive with headlights on. Use your low beams, which cast light toward the road below, to spot downed branches, piles of slippery leaves, and even patches of frost and ice.
  • Leaves: Wet leaves are extremely slippery, but dry leaves are no better. Avoid parking near or on piles of dry leaves, which pose a fire threat when in contact with your exhaust system or catalytic converter.
  • Tire Pressure & Tread: Fluctuating temperatures and weather cause tires to expand and contract. Continuously monitor tire pressure, and keep a close eye on tire tread, too.

Finally, although it is a law in PA, here's a friendly reminder to always wear your seatbelt!
