Fresh, New Chrysler 200 Positioned for Greatness

Getting involved in the midsize sedan segment is kind of like playing the Game of Thrones: either you win, or you die. But that's just how our preferred automaker is approaching things with the 2015 Chrysler 200, and based on the reactions so far, this car doesn't look like it's going to be anything like an automotive Ned Stark.

If you haven't heard about this new model yet, we'd be surprised. It was one of the top covered by news outlets when it was unveiled at the Cobo Hall in Detroit last week. People, it would seem, are quite impressed.

That's because Chrysler has gone above and beyond with this refresh. The car's been rebuilt from the ground up, taking into account the wishes of drivers and dealers alike. Of course, there's plenty of Detroit innovation in there.

For one, the new 200 comes with the segment-first nine speed automatic transmission and a choice of either a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder or the brand's award winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. While solid fuel economy numbers are still mum, we've heard 35 mpg tossed around as a probably highway number.

The new midsize sedan also comes with a number of onboard convenience features packed into its premium interior. Among these are the brand's UConnect infotainment system, a radial gear shifter, which gives drivers access even more storage space up front.
